Pursuant to the December 2021 Attorney General Guideline “Promoting Diversity in Law Enforcement Recruiting and Hiring,” the Monmouth Beach Police Department is committed to doing all that we can to hiring staff who reflect the communities that we serve. See N.J.S.A.52:17B-4.10. 2019 Census Data indicates that Monmouth Beach’s population is 94.4% White, <1% Black, 3.3% Hispanic, and .4% Asian. As of December 31, 2021, the MBPD had 12 Officers: 91% were white, 8.3% were black, 0% Hispanic and 0% were Asian. 8.3% of our officers are female . Through job fares, such as the outreach event held by the Monmouth County Chiefs of Police at Brookdale Community College on March 8th, and job fairs at local schools, we will continue to strive to increase the number of female officers on staff and will enhance our efforts to seek diverse applicants to join our agency.
