REVISED

Dear Residents

As Halloween season approaches, we are asking residents to be mindful of safety for both adults and children participating in Trick or Treating. Trick or Treating will be on October 31st from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Borough is taking the necessary steps to ensure that Halloween participants are provided with safe passage on our streets.

We are asking that celebrations and large gatherings be contained to residents’ homes and properties and not spill over to the borough streets where it may become a hazard to trick or treaters and residents.

We would also encourage residents to consider trick or treating throughout the borough. We understand the ease of concentrating on both Navesink and Monmouth Parkway. We ask families to please explore other streets in the borough. This would ease pressure on this one area and perhaps on our police department as well.

The new traffic patterns for Halloween, October 31st, will be from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and are as follows:

*Monmouth Parkway and Navesink Drive will be closed at Wesley Street to all traffic. Residents residing on the streets will have access by showing ID.

*No parking on all of Wesley Street from Riverdale Avenue to Patten Avenue.

*No Parking on Tocci Avenue, Hastings Place, Columbus Drive, Spaulding Place, Bayonne Avenue, Eleanor Place or Elizabeth Place.

We are in no way restricting access to the events of the day, however the amount of vehicle parking in recent years has caused dangerous road conditions in the area. We encourage residents to walk in and out, in an effort, to reduce the risk to all parents and children.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Daniel McManus
Chief Of Police
